Requirements for document recognition with OZ Text.

  • Document should be displayed in the image fully, its edges should not be aligned with the image edges.
  • Background should stand in contrast to the document (a white document will not be recognized on a white background as well as a black one on a black background).
  • The best case is when the document covers 70...80% of the image area (this is important because even with a 12 MP original image the resolution of the document after it will be determined and cropped will be just 640×480 which is not enough for a correct recognition).
  • JPEG compression must be at least 70% of the original size.
  • Inclination should not exceed 10 in reference to either axle (horizontal/vertical). Otherwise the distortion will be too strong to compensate it without losing the image quality.
